What is the eligibility for IGNOU Post Basic BSc Nursing Admission?
ADMISSIONS- The admissions are done through both online and offline modes. For online mode, the application forms are released online on the college website. For the offline mode, the interested candidate has to visit the centre and submit the application forms with complete authentic details and documents required at the time of admission. The admission forms must be filled out within the deadline period decided by the college authorities. The documents required include- class 10th and 12th mark sheets, character certificate, identity proof, migration certificate, and transfer certificate.
OpenNet IX application form must fill by the candidates if they want to take admitted into the B.Sc or post-basic nursing course which is provided by IGNOU university.
ELIGIBILITY- In-service Nurses i.e. Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM) have 10+2 with three years of Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with a minimum of two years of experience (after registration as RNRM in the profession. (For male nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM programme, should have a certificate in any of the Nursing courses of 6-9 months duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery) – Given as on the official website are eligible to apply for the courses.
IGNOU University administers the OpenNet Admission exam, a written entrance examination, to qualified applicants. The question paper is structured to include 120 multiple-choice questions (for which they award 1 mark for each correct response). In addition, they also include additional subjects that are covered during GNM. All candidates will have two and a half hours to complete the admission exam.

IGNOU POST BASIC B.SC Nursing Application Procedure
The candidates can get the entrance exam form from the official web portal of the university along with they can also get it from the offline mode of procedure by visiting the university or regional centre.
- Candidates can get the application form by paying 1200 rs at the cash counter of the university.
- In the event that the candidates download the entrance test from then, they must have to pay 1210 as a demand draft towards the university address.
- The candidates can download the admission form offline from the official website of the IGNOU University. Along with sending a DD to the university address of around 1050 INR. The candidates can send this to the IGNOU university or the regional centre of the IGNOU university by using the method of speed post or else regional centre concerned.
- Candidates can obtain the student’s handbook and prospectus from the director (SSC) IGNOU maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110068, or they can get it from any of the university regional centre for that they have to pay the university 1050 INR amount as in the form of Demand draft. IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Eligibility Criteria
The candidates should hit the requirements of the eligibility criteria of the IGNOU admission for B.Sc nursing along with there is no such age limit decided by the university for the candidates.
Education qualification needed by the university for admission
The interested candidates must have completed their 10+2 along with they should have 3 years diploma in general nursing along with midwifery (GNM). The candidates, of course, own a minimum 2 years duration experience in their field
Along with if the candidates want to do service In nursing then they must have done their 10th class or along with can have a 3-year diploma in the general nursing course along with Midwifery with minimum 5 years experience in this field.
Note: The male nurses who don’t have GNM midwifery certificate then they must have a certificate in the other nursing course of 6-9 months of time duration. The certificated course should be prescribed by the Indian Nursing Counselling (INC) in place of Midwifery.
Age Limit
There is no age limit for the candidates for getting admission into the university.
IGNOU post-Basic B.Sc nursing Selection process
- The university provides the admission to the candidates on their marks of merit list along with from the entrance test which is conducted by SED.
- Henceforth the selected candidates will be called by the university or regional centre with their official documents for the verification of counselling.
- After the verification process gets over. The university will make the admission as per the region-wise. Along with they also give the admission as per the merit list basic to the candidates of each category.
