The Indira Gandhi Open National University is a Government run institution which was established by an Act of Parliament in 1985. It has also contributed to increasing the gross enrollment ratio by offering education through open and distance learning options. The university offers about 228 certificates, diplomas, degrees, and doctoral programs. The main objective is to provide personalized and digitalized learning to diverse groups of the nation.
There are many different courses available to students through the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). For students who don’t want to attend a traditional college or who want to work while they are in school, this is an excellent alternative. The university offers simple admission procedures for students. In the course, we mostly discuss the Master’s degree. The deadline to register for MCA is February 28, and those who wish to be admitted must do so before that date. COURSE DURATION- Although it can be prolonged to six years, the MCA programme has a three-year duration. Six semesters make up the three years of this programme. Meaning of ‘Master in Computer Applications
The MCA is a post-graduation degree in computer science. The full form of MCA is Master in Computer Applications. This course is of practical work or theoretical work as well. IGNOU MCA RESULT

IGNOU MCA Admission Eligibility Criteria
The candidate should fulfil the requirement for getting admission first and then during the course as well in order to appear for the particular examination. Otherwise, those who do not fulfil the criteria for this have to face disqualification. There are some specific points for checking the eligibility at the time of admission in IGNOU for the course MCA and the term-end examination.
- Minimum qualification- Graduate in any field or any stream from a recognized university, the duration of this course should have more than 3 years otherwise the candidate is not eligible even if the duration of the graduation course is less than 3 years.
- The subject that is mandatory in MCA is Mathematics in class or Graduation, it doesn’t matter which stream you have in class 12th whether it is Commerce with mathematics or Science it will be acceptable but you should have mathematics subject.
- There are exceptions for the candidates who didn’t have mathematics in class 12th or graduation who can get admission, they have to clear an exam to get admission whose name is BCS-012 concurrently with IGNOU MCA. This is the last option for students who don’t have mathematics in their past studies.
The eligibility for the term-end examination is the following:
- There is a valid registration into IGNOU MCA 2024 for giving the exam if there is any fraud or something the candidate is not eligible for attending the exams.
- The student has to register for the prescribed IGNOU MCA course only if the candidate gets admission in the other field or course, and wants to give the exam of MCA it is not possible.
- The students have to register for admission within the prescribed time or exam registration before the last date got ends up.
- The students have to submit the assignments on time or otherwise they are not eligible for attending the exams. Students can submit assignments after the prescribed time only when they have a valid reason for not submitting the assignments on time.
- Students have registered for the exams before the last date of form submission after paying the prescribed fee for the exam application form. This procedure is totally online students can register themselves. They don’t need to go to university for this.
IGNOU MCA Admission Registration
The procedure of admission is very easy who are interested in taking admission to IGNOU, but they have to read the instructions first and the eligibility very carefully. If the candidate is not eligible or will pay the registration admission fees and got disqualified the registration fees will not get refunded. The candidate wants to get admission in IGNOU MCA registration in online mode only after providing their academic details. The admission gets open twice a year for the session of January and July.
The eligible candidates have to accomplish the process of registration before the last date. The candidate can pay the late fee if they got late. - A Digital Copy of the signature
- A copy of category certificate, if SC/ST/OBC
- The Digital copy of relevant educational qualification of All the previous schooling areas

- Digital copy of experience certificate (if any) by the candidate seeking admission
- The digital copy of age proof of the candidate
- Finally, a digital copy of the Aadhaar card or pan card
All the documents submitted must be completely checked properly and authentic as the authorities are very strict regarding the verification process of the documents of the enrolled students and can also cancel the admission in case of any discrepancy if found. The steps to register for MCA admission in IGNOU are as follows:
Firstly, you have to visit the website the official website of IGNOU and click on the ‘New Registration’ to open the registration form for admission and then select the course which you wanted to do. Then fill the personal details like name, father’s name, address, gender, email, mobile number, etc. you will also be required to maintain a username and password. Accept the instructions button and then submit. If anyone wants to get changes in the details if required. The username and password after getting verified will be intimated to the mobile phone and email of the candidate.
Fees structure MCA from IGNOU
If the student wants to pay full for the course at the starting so they can pay. The fees for the MCA whole course is 72000. If anyone is unable to pay the fees at the starting so there is another option. The candidate can pay fees per semester as well. There is no extra fee if the student pay per semester. The per semester fees is 12000. If any student doesn’t have the mathematics background so they have to pay the additional fee at the time of first-semester fee getting paid.
IGNOU MCA SYLLABUS 2024

IGNOU University has a total of 31 courses which is provided to the students. There are courses of theoretical knowledge as well as practical knowledge courses. IGNOU MCA Admission 2024 Exam Form
The students who got admission in the university, they have to register for exam form at the time of exams. There are two sessions of MCA, so there should be a different exam registration form. At the time of June and at the time of December.
Steps to fill the IGNOU MCA online application form:
The candidates have to log in the id at IGNOU website by entering the username, password and security code. After that, the first section of the IGNOU MCA 2024 exam form is on ‘Programme details’ where candidates choose their place for the examination centre, programme, medium of study etc. Click on save and re-check for any mistakes and then click on the Next button. The fifth section is of corresponding details, fill the phone number, address etc. and click on the save and next button. The final section of the IGNOU application form is for ‘Document Uploading’. Before uploading the document, students have to scan the copies of the required documents. The size of the jpg file must not exceed 100 kb. And then hit the next button. The next page is for satisfying the details and then press the next button for final submission. There maybe extend the time of exam registration after payment of additional fees for 10 days.
IGNOU MCA 2024 Admit Card
The authority gives the admit card to the students who have registered for the term-end examination in online mode. The candidate is required to download it. The admit card contains the centre and the date of examination. The candidates who are unable to access their IGNOU MCA 2024 admit card may contact the registrar. The student has to bring the admit card for entry in the exam centre. If a student forgets to bring their admit card, they don’t get an entry in the examination hall. It must be in the physical form.
