Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology is a deemed university was established in 1988. Although PMIST is recognized Private University by MHRD, UGC, AICTE, NBA in Tamil Nadu. Earlier it was named Periyar Maniammai College for Women, being considered as world’s first women’s Engineering College. Furthermore, PMIST proposes various Specialization Programs such as:

PMIST Eligibility Criteria

Therefore all candidates have to acknowledge the following eligibility criteria of the university.

Courses offered

UG Course:

B. Arch: All the students must be cleared either higher secondary examination with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as compulsory subjects or 10^th + 3-year Diploma with Mathematics & English as compulsory subjects with aggregate 50% marks.

Apart from this students have to qualify NATA or University entrance exam.

B.Tech: All candidates must have cleared 10+2 with 45% aggregate marks with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Physics/Biotechnology/technical vocational subject. Besides, students also have to qualify for the university entrance exam.

B. Tech (Lateral Entry) – Since all the students should have passed Diploma Examination with a minimum of 45% marks in Engineering & Technology. Apart from this students also should have B.Sc. Degree from a UGC Recognised University along with higher Secondary Examination with mathematics as a compulsory subject.

Furthermore, the university also provides B. Tech (part-time) with a minimum 2-year full-time work experience in relevant discipline.

B.A (English). The candidate must have passed the 10+2 examination.

B.Com: Since the candidate must have passed 10+2 or 10+ 3year Diploma examination.

B.Com (Hons): Though the candidate must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Accountancy as their compulsory Subjects.

BBA: As the candidate must have cleared 10+2 examination.

BCA: The candidates must have cleared Higher Secondary examination or any other equivalent examination in mathematics or Computer Science.

B.Sc.: All The Candidate must have passed the higher secondary examination with Physics, Chemistry and Science as main subjects according to their specialisation.

PG Course:

M. Arch: Although all the candidates must have passed bachelor degree in Architecture. Meanwhile, students also have to qualify entrance exam with aggregate 50% marks.

M.Tech- Although, the Students must have a Bachelor degree in relevant subjects with aggregate 50% marks.

Apart from this, candidates will have to be obtained 50% marks in the entrance exam.

Furthermore, the university also offers M. Tech (part-time) with a minimum 2-year full-time work experience in relevant discipline.

MCA (Regular): The students must have an undergraduate degree in BCA / B.Sc. / B.Com. / B.A with mathematics in the higher secondary examination. Moreover, students must have 50% aggregate marks in the entrance exam.

Meanwhile, University also provides MCA (Lateral) in the same eligibility as MCA (Regular).

M.Sc.: Although all students must have a bachelor degree in respective subjects.

M.Com: Although, students must have an undergraduate degree in commerce such as BBA/B.COM/ B.COM (Hons)/BBM.

M.A.: All the students must have an undergraduate degree in any discipline.

MSW (Master of Social Work): Any Bachelor Degree is required.

MBA (Dual Specialisation): Since all students must have a Bachelor Degree with aggregate 50% marks in the entrance exam.

M.Phil. & Ph.D.: Although all students must have a master’s Degree or Diploma with 55% aggregate marks from a recognised university along with also qualify University entrance Exam.

B.Sc. B.ED: Since all the students must have passed 10+2 examination with 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Science as their compulsory subjects

PMIST Admission form 2024

PMIST Admission Process started for the Academic year 2024.

These are the following steps to apply:

Admission form can be filled through online at the University website Portal.
After filling the form candidates have to deposit the fee through available payment options
Admission will be done after the entrance test & interview session.

NOTE :- A Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 600 /- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ ST) should be drawn in favour of Registrar. Selection of candidates is based on PMUET entrance test conducted by the university and a personal interview. The teachers are well qualified and supportive to the students.

Scholarship

Scholarship for B.Tech. program will be made on the basis of obtained scores in 10+2 education and JEE entrance test
The scholarship will be given on this condition that a student has passed all the semesters and has 80% attendance in the previous academic year.
For other courses candidates have to pass an entrance test conducted by the University itself.
