National Sports University (NSU) was founded in 2018 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.  This University provides candidates with various courses in Physical education & sports. Moreover, the NSU university offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral programs in Physical education and sports. 

The motto of the National Sports University is Sports Excellence through Education, Research and Training.
The National Sports University envisions being the best and stands at the forefront of sports education, research, and training.

National Sports University has its campus at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex of Imphal, Manipur. The permanent campus of NSU is located at Imphal West.
National Sports University is also functioning as the national training center by following the best international guidelines by signing the Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with various international universities.

“Sports has the power to change the entire world” the university started with this motto. The university authority wants to make it the first one kind of university which promote sports education in various fields.

The university follows guidelines of the supreme court and UGC which are strictly forbids ragging on the campus. Members take very strict action against those students who are found guilty of ragging and keep a proper watch on the campus. The university provides a good and safe environment for the students.

National Sports University promotes education in the field of Sports Sciences, Sports Technology, Sports Management, and Sports Coaching.

National Sports University Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates are selected based on Merit and based on Admission test & counselling.
• For B.Sc & B.P.E.S courses, a candidate who has completed 10+2 education from any Government recognized institution is considered.
• For M.S.c in Sports, the candidate who has a Bachelor’s degree in Sports coaching will be considered according to the score in the admission test and counseling.
• Likewise,  for M.A. Sports psychology, Bachelor’s degree in Sports Psychology or Bachelor’s degree in SPorts coaching coupled with Psychology would be an added advantage.

General Conditions for Admission

• If the candidates are expelled from any other Board / Institute / University or involved in acts of crime or misconduct then they will not be eligible for the admission.
• Admission will be granted to the candidates at their own risk and if they provides false information then they will be responsible and the admission will stand cancelled 

National Sports University Application Procedure:

The first thing to remember is that the application form can be downloaded online. In order to apply for the course, first, download the application form online, second fill in the necessary details along with the required details, third select the course and fill in the other details related to pay fees. Additionally, pay via online mode and keep up the payment receipt, Acknowledgement copy for future purpose.

MASTER OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION [M.P.E.S]

Remember the given admission criteria for a Master of Physical Education in disciplines such as Boxing, Hockey, Basketball, Athletics, Archery, Badminton, Football, Gymnastics, Swimming, Water Polo, Table Tennis, Wrestling, Yoga, etc. 

• National Sports University Entrance Examination (NSUEE): 100 marks
• Physical Fitness: 20 marks
• Game Proficiency: 30 marks
• Sports Achievement: 30 marks
• Viva Voce (Online): 20 marks 

National Sports University Admission Procedure:

The Admission process for B.s.c, M.s.c(Sports coaching), B.P.E.S, MSc. Sports coaching, M.A Sports coaching involves a few steps. Additionally, candidates who have achieved in various sports activities (International & National level) and also participated in a few sports competitions are considered as an added advantage. Provided that, such achievements should have not crossed 3 years at the time of admission.

i) Obtain the application:

ii) Take admission:

In order for applying for admission, keep in mind that Physical fitness is a part of being eligible for admission. It concentrates on Candidates who have participated in sports activities at International & National level. Additionally, Scorecard is available, candidates can download it from the official website.

iii) Selection process:

As mentioned earlier, the Merit score is based on the candidate’s Sports activities and also based on the Admission test, counselling, the selection will happen. The result will be announced on the Official website and candidates can check their result by entering the Registration number provided.

iv) Fees details:

The detailed fees structure can be obtained from the official website and payment can be done online and offline.

The Online Application Fee is INR 1000 per course at National Sports University.

The application fee has to be paid online using Credit cards, Debit cards, and Net Banking. The candidates must keep in mind that no offline payment option is available.

Documents

Candidates are required to submit the following documents within the time period.

• Marksheet of qualifying examination
• Proof of Date of Birth (Marksheet of secondary or senior secondary school)
• Character Certificate from the last attended Institute
• Anti-Ragging Affidavit by the candidate and his/her parents
• Bonafide Certificate that testifies the candidate’s SC/ST/OBC status (if applicable)
• Transfer and Migration certificate from the Board/Institute/College/University last attended
• Medical Fitness Certificate of a Candidate which should be issued by the renowned doctor
• Declaration of a Candidate which should be in the prescribed by format which is given in the Annexure please check it
