Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) was established in 1996. After a few activities by KSOU, the Government of Karnataka and the heading of the tall court, 17 courses of KSOU were allowed acknowledgment from 2018 onwards.

KSOU Admission 2024-25

B.Lib.I.Sc/M.Lib. I.Sc and M.Sc.Courses, it is Rs. 500 and Rs. 100 for MBA. The minimum eligibility for the undergraduate programs is 10+2 or HSC or equivalent examination. The minimum eligibility for postgraduate programs is qualifying a bachelor’s degree.

Entrance Exam

The entrance exam for the admission purpose nationwide, is conducted by the University itself. The entrance examination is held for different UG and PG courses. Students from nationwide can apply for this examination.

Common Entrance Exam is conducted for admission in B.Ed. course
If students have already appeared and passed the examination like CAT, CMAT and XAT, then they are not required to apply for any other examination to get admission in an MBA course.

KSOU Scholarships:

The University provides scholarships to the students who belong to low financial family background. They provide four different kinds of scholarship i.e.:

To those students whose parents’ annual income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh. In this situation they need not to submit the tuition fees. But this is applicable only after submitting the income certificate.
For SC/ST/OBC Category students: Whose parents’ annual income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh, then their tuition fees will be ignored. They also get another benefit i.e. they will be given the free accommodation facilities in government hostels.
Students whose parental annual income is between Rs 2.5 lakh to 10 lakh, they will be provided a discount on tuition fees up to 25%.
For SC/ST/OBC Category students: Whose parent’s annual income is between Rs 2.5 lakh to 10 lakh, they will be provided a discount of 50% on tuition fees.
