The Karnataka government founded Karnataka Samskrit University in 2010 as a state Sanskrit university. The University offers a wide variety of courses, including BA, MA, Ph.D., M.Phil., Post-Doctoral studies, and Diploma and Certificate programmes. There are two constituent Sanskrit colleges, ten aided affiliated colleges, and nine unaided affiliated colleges in the university’s range. The University has offered various courses at Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral levels. The objective of this University to promote the traditional system of learning and highlight the Samskrit Language, Vedic Shastras, and Yogic Sciences and development and research of Sanskrit Language. To promote awareness about Vedas globally so that students of different areas can connect to the University.
Admission shall be based on the entrance test and an interview duly following the merit cum reservation polity of State Government. The application and entrance exam fee is INR 500 (for General category candidates) and INR 250 (for SC/ST category candidates).
The fees for BA course is Rs. 4100 (1st year fees).

There are various streams i.e. Arts & Social Sciences, Basic Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Law, Computer Applications, InforMAtion Technology, Management, Languages, and Yogic Sciences. All the aspirants should have to meet with the eligibility criteria. For admission in UG programs, must have passed the senior secondary examination from a recognized board.
