What is the last date to apply for INSPIRE Scholarship?

The last date for applying for INSPIRE Scholarship is 31 January 2024. The registrations are open. The candidates must visit the official website of Inspire to fill up the forms.

INSPIRE Scholarship 2024-25 will offer for 10,000 scholarships for the students. Inspire scholarship 2024 is a merit-based scholarship in India. This scholarship meant for meritorious students undertaking bachelor’s and master’s courses in Natural and Basic Sciences. INSPIRE Scholarship offers 10000 scholarships every year. The applicant must fall within the age group of 17 to 22 years. The applicants can apply online for SHE scholarship through online portal of INSPIRE.

INSPIRE Scholarship SHE-2024 Notification

The last date for applying for the INSPIRE Fellowship is 10th February 2024. Interested students must visit the official website for more information.

The INSPIRE authority calls for application under INSPIRE Scholarship SHE-2024. The application is open from 1st September 203. The last date for filling out the INSPIRE Scholarship SHE-2024 form is 31st Jan 2024.

Students who have tenable JEE or NEET rank within 10000 ranks can also apply for the Inspire scholarship 2024. The Government of India considers study and research in Science and Technology as a vital contribution towards economic growth for our country. This scholarship is meant for commendable students undertaking bachelor’s and master’s courses in Natural and Basic Sciences.

The motive of this Scholarship to attract students towards basic science so that they can do study well and make a well-settled career in the field of Science Research.

Students can easily continue their studies without any stress. Students can also pay their tuition fees from scholarship money and other expenses also. Scholarship decreases the cost of student study. Scholarships provide moral support to the student family. The students who win the scholarship can get Rs. 80000 per annum.

The total duration of Inspire Scholarship to the selected candidates is for five years starting from the first year of B.Sc. Course. The validity of scholarship will remain till the completion of the course. The further continuation of scholarship will totally depend on the performance of the students in the examination.

The only aim of this scholarship programme is to promote the education of science in students. Due to this scholarship, students are attracted to the science field and develop an interest in the science field.
The candidates whose name is present in the merit list are selected for the Inspire scholarship.

Candidates from all the states of India can apply for this scholarship programme. 

We all know how important scholarships are for every students it does not only help the family of any student financially but also lower the stress for both the student as well as their family. This is also seem as a reward for students who’ve worked hard for the scheme.

Inspire scholarship program is one of the most popular scholarship programs in India. According to the records, it is seen that young students have the potential to innovate useful products. Inspire is a platform for such young students to innovate more and learn from the innovations.

No personal examination is not conducted to allow the students for the INSPIRE Scholarship. 

The scholarship not only provides support to the students but also encourages them to continue their studies in science and technology. 

The scholarship provides 1000 fellowship and internship opportunities to the students. 

It also encourages the students by providing the INSPIRE awards. 

INSPIRE Scholarship 2024

Department of Science and Technology (DST) established in 1971 by the Government of India has contributed and worked towards the progress of science and technology ranging from the foundation level to advancement in technologies through research, development, and education.  

The Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) is a Scholarship scheme launched by DST in 2008 with a long-term vision to connect with the aspiring and talented youth in our country who are passionate about science and build a platform for them to expand the Research and Development base in Science and Technology. This scholarship doesn’t conduct any competitive exams as it believes in the effectiveness of the present educational structure for recognizing candidates with excellent aptitude.  

INSPIRE Scholarship 2024 Awards

The INSPIRE Scholarship offers around 10,000 scholarships to students from various specializations of Basic and Natural Sciences at the UG and the PG level. The INSIPRE Scholarship 2024 covers a total amount of Rs. 80,000 offered annually. Among the Rs. 80,000 scholarship, Rs. 60,000 is offered annually to the students and an additional of Rs. 20,000 is offered to the candidates to carry out research project under the Scholarship of Higher Education (SHE) scheme. It is mandatory for the students who have availed the benefits of INSPIRE Scholarship 2024 to carry out the research work under the guidance of an active researcher. The benefits of the scheme can availed by the candidates for a period of 5 years or until their course is completed.

INSPIRE Scholarship 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The INSPIRE Scholarship is offered to a selected list of students who fulfil the basic eligibility criteria set by the offering authority. As per the guidelines issued by the authority, the candidates should be within the age limit of 17 years to 22 years. We have mentioned additional eligibility criteria which are released by the university in the pointers below.

  • Candidate’s age must be within 17 years to 22 years old. 
  • Candidate must pass class 12th and register for courses in Basic and Natural Sciences at B.Sc, BS, and integrated MS level in the current year i.e., 2024.  
  • Subject eligibility under SHE: Astrophysics, Anthropology, Atmospheric Sciences, Astronomy, Biology, Botany, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, Electronics, Ecology, Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry, Genetics, Mathematics, Microbiology, Marine Biology, Oceanic Sciences, Physics, Statistics, and Zoology. These are supported courses in which the scholarship is granted.
  • Candidates must be in the top 1% of ranking students in terms of overall marks in the 12th board exam. 
  • Candidates in the top 20,000 rankers in AIEEE, top 10,000 rankers of IIT, and passed AIPTM (CBSE-Medical) and opted to pursue an education in Basic and Natural sciences are qualified for the scholarship. 
  • Candidates who are scholars of National Talent Search Examination, Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna, Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search, and Olympiad Medalist and pursuing courses in Natural and Basic Sciences are qualified for the scholarship. 
  • Candidates enrolled in the National Institute of Science Education and Research, Indian Institutes of Science Education, and Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Basic Sciences at the University of Mumbai are qualified for the scholarship. 
  • Candidates who are in regular courses can only apply for this scholarship.
  • Such courses which are not supportive for this scholarship: Engineering, Psychology, Medicine, Agriculture, Home Science, Biotechnology, Anthropology, Bio-informatics, Military Science, Physical Education, Education, Geography, Economics, Computer Science, Seed Technology, Computer Application and IT.

INSPIRE Scholarship 2024 Documents Requirement 

There are certain documents which are to be submitted by the candidates while submitting the online registration form for the INSPIRE Scholarship 2024. Candidates must ensure to upload the original documents which are issued by trusted authorities. WE have mentioned below the documents which are to be uploaded by the candidates.

  1. Passport size photograph in JPEG format with size not more than 50 KB. 
  2. SBI bank passbook’s first page in PDF format with size, not more than 1 MB. 
  3. Advisory or eligibility note if provided by State or Central Board in PDF format with size not more than 1 MB. 
  4. 10th-grade certificate or mark sheet for proof of date of birth in PDF format with size not more than 1 MB. 
  5. 12th-grade mark sheet in PDF format with size not more than 1 MB. 
  6. Endorsement Form signed by the Director of the Institute or Principal of the College or Registrar of the University in PDF format with size not more than 1 MB. 
  7. Caste certificate if the candidate belongs to OBC/SC/ST category in PDF format with size not more than 1 MB. 
  8. If the candidate has qualified in any of these criteria then provide a certificate stating rank in NTSE/ NEET/ JEE (Main)/ JEE (Advanced)/ KVPY / International Olympic Medalists / JBNSTS in PDF format with size not more than 1 MB. 

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDELINES FOR SCHOLARSHIP PROCESS:

Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE)” is an innovative programme sponsored and managed by the Department of Science & Technology for the attraction of talent to Science. The basic objective of INSPIRE is to communicate to the youth of the country the excitements of creative pursuit of science, attract talent to the study of science at an early age, and thus build the required critical human resource pool for strengthening and expanding the Science & Technology system and R & D base.

INSPIRE Scholarship 2024 Application Process

The authority offers the INSPIRE Scholarship 2024 releases the online registration form on the official website for the candidates to fill out. The candidates who adhere to the basic eligibility criteria set by the authority can move ahead with the application process. We have mentioned below the steps which are to be followed by the interested candidates for INSPIRE Scholarship 2024-25.

  • The applications for the scholarship are accepted through the online portal. 
  • Register as a new user on the INSPIRE programme portal and click on ‘New User? Register here.’ Enter your name, date of birth, gender, email, password, eligibility criteria, and verification code for registration. 
  • You will receive a user ID and password on your registered email ID, click on the activation link to activate the account. 
  • Before you fill the application form, keep scanned copies of all the required documents as mentioned above ready. 
  • Log in to the INSPIRE scholarship portal using your username and password. 
  • Fill in all the details like enrollment information at B.Sc. and Integrated M.Sc. level, personal particulars, national level competitive exam details, senior secondary performance information, contact details, and other details in the application form. 
  • By pressing on the ‘Print Preview’ button, you can review all the details. Make sure that all uploaded documents and details are correct and in support of the online application. 
  • Submit your application by clicking on the ‘Submit’ button. 
  • After the final submission of the online scholarship application form take a print out of the submitted application for your record. 

Documents Requirements with the Scholarship:

There are some of the important documents required while filling out the form for INSPIRE scholarship. The list of the essential documents is given below. All the documents must be original and accurate. If any false information is provided by the student, then strict actions will be taken.

INSPIRE SELECTION PROCESS 2024: 

Candidates submitted applications are evaluated based on the stated qualification criteria and a shortlist potential INSPIRE scholars. Due to a large number of applicants, the process takes a minimum of four months for the submission of results.   

  • The shortlist candidate list is displayed on the online portal and the website of the INSPIRE programme. 
  • Download your provisional offer letter from the online portal if selected. If selected but you can’t find the offer letter, log in to the online portal and it will be displayed in the dashboard. 
  • You can find the INSPIRE registration number in the scholarship offer letter. 
  • Upload necessary documents on the web portal within the specified timeline. 
  • If selected as a candidate for the scholarship, you will receive scholarship benefits directly into the SBI bank account through Direct Bank Transfer.  
  • Visit the website https://www.online-inspire.gov.in and follow the instructions carefully.
  • The students must note that incomplete and wrongly filled-up applications will be rejected.
  • The students must not fill out more than one application.

RENEWAL OF INSPIRE SCHOLARSHIP: 

To continue SHE scholarship in the following years and apply for renewal- 

  • Candidates must score a 7.0 GPA on a 10.0-point scale or minimum 60% marks in annual examinations each year or two semesters. 
  • Failure in securing the required marks, the scholarship for that academic year will be canceled. It can be resumed next year if the academic performance is adequate.  

INSPIRE TERMS AND CONDITIONS: 

  • Students must apply for ‘Scholarship for Higher Education’ in the same year they pass their 12th exam and get admission in B.Sc, BS, integrated M.Sc/MS degrees in Natural and Basic Sciences.  
  • They must ensure that the application and its process is complete, an incomplete form will be rejected. 
  • The selected candidate must open a regular Savings Bank account in any branch of SBI bank and the account name must be the name of the candidate. It should not be a joint account. 
  • The shortlisted candidates must submit the mark sheet of their B.Sc, BS, Int. M.Sc/MS course and year-wise performance report signed by the Head of the Institution for the issue of the scholarship. The Head of the Institution must ensure that it is mentioned in the performance report whether the candidate’s scholarship for that academic year should be continues or not. 
  •  If the academic performance of the student is adequate, INR 1,20,000 for two years of the scholarship will be issued during the candidate’s 2nd year of B.Sc, BS, integrated M.Sc/MS. 
  • Candidates applying for any other scholarship from other sources and receiving benefits from it are not eligible to receive this scholarship. 
  • If the Candidate decided to discontinue their BSc/BS/Int. MSc/Int. MS course, the scholarship will be withdrawn and remain withdrawn even if the candidate decides to re-join the course. 
  • In INSPIRE-SHE, 8 additional subjects are added at the post-graduation (M.Sc.) level for Scholarship support. The subjects are mentioned below.
  • Biostatistics
  • Bioinformatics
  • BiotechnologY
  • Data Science
  • Environmental Science
  • Materials Science
  • Nano Science
  • Remote Sensing and GIS

Conditions of Summer Projects: 

  • Summer Research project is mandatory for INSPIRE scholars to enroll every year at acknowledged research centers in the country but outside their parent institutions. INSPIRE scholarship offers 20,000 annually as Mentorship for enrolling in Summer Research programmes. The timeline for the programme is six to eight weeks and that must be mentioned in the project report. The programme is an individual assignment, group projects are not accepted.  
  • Scholars must submit a certified letter by the Research Guide where the INSPIRE scholar is enrolled and a report specifying the objectives as well as the results of the project.  

INSPIRE SCHOLARSHIP DATES 2024

The official dates for the process of completing the INSPIRE Scholarship 2024 registration has not yet been released on the official website of the authority offering the scholarship. The form is expected to soon be released on the official website. However, we have mentioned below the tentative schedule for the release of the online registration form for INSPIRE Scholarship 2024.

  • The scholarship application is available every year during the mid of October and ends at the ending of December.  
  • The online application generally starts on 1st November 2024 and closes on 31st Jan 2024.  
  • The last day to apply for INSPIRE Scholarship for the academic year 2024 is on 31st Jan 2024  
  • The release of shortlisted candidates will be updated in the month of April or May. 
  • The dates are provisional and subject to change on the disposition of DST. 
  • Students must constantly check the official websites to get the latest updates about the scholarship. 

OTHER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMMES INITIATED BY DST: 

1) INSPIRE Assured Opportunity for Research Careers (AORC) 

It aims at strengthening research foundations for doctoral studies and establishing partnerships with private sectors that are providing high-yielding results in nurturing talented youth for scientific research. It also aims to engage and recruit brilliant young scientists to build a firm R & D foundation. AORC includes two components-  

a) INSPIRE Fellowship: 

  • Eligibility:  
  • Students who are 1st rank holders in courses of Basic and Applied Science at PG Level Exam. Students who scored at least 70% overall marks at M.Sc or Integrated M.Sc/MS level. Students who are 1st rank holder in Medicine at the Graduate Level Exam 
  • Benefits: 
  • Selected candidates will be awarded Rs. 25,000 per month for 2 years. Selected candidates will be awarded Rs. 28,000 per month for the last 3 years. Selected candidates will also receive a contingency grant of Rs. 20,000 per year with House Rent Allowances. 

b) INSPIRE Faculty Award: 

  • Eligibility: 
  • Candidates must be within the age group of 27 to 32 years old. Candidates belonging to SC/ST are qualified for 5 years of relaxation.  
  • Candidates must secure a minimum of 60% marks starting from Class 12 and throughout their following academic career. 
  • Candidates who are 1st rank holder in PG or Graduation level will be given preference as well as candidates who rank in the top 1% at the IIT-JEE exam and School Leaving Exam. 
  • Ph.D. holders or waiting for their Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Science, Pharmacy, Medicine, Agricultural related subjects, and Engineering. Candidates who have submitted their Ph. D. thesis is also eligible for the scholarship. 
  • Benefits: 
  • The selected candidate will be awarded Rs. 80,000 with an increased rate of 3.3% per year. They also get awarded Rs. 7 lack per year research grant for 5 years. 
  • Inspire Faculty Scheme gives opportunities to 1000 post-doctoral researchers by offering them contractual and tenure track positions for a duration of 5 years in both the basic and applied sciences field.

Note: The selection process for qualified applications and screenings is conducted by the Internal Committee and final selection is done through the Expert Committee. 

2) INSPIRE Scheme for Early Attraction of Talent for Science (SEATS) –  

SEATS under the INSPIRE scheme aims at supporting talented and brilliant young students aged 10 to 15 years by encouraging them to pursue and take interest in the field of Innovation, Science and Research by offering them INSPIRE Internship and Awards.  

  1. a) INSPIRE Internship: 
  • Presenting an opportunity for 50,000 students every year to communicate with global science leaders in summer/winter camps.  
  • Eligibility: 
  • Class 11th Science stream students who are ranked among the top 1% in their 10th Board Exam. Students should be within the age group of 16 to 17 years old. 
  • Under INSPIRE Internship program, Science camps are organized for the students to promote innovation and motivate the youth to make a career in the science, research, and development field. INSPIRE Internship Science Camp resides in nature with proper accommodation facilities for girls and boys.
  1. b) INSPIRE Awards: 
  • An estimated count of 2 lack students benefits under INSPIRE Awards by receiving Rs. 5000 per child.  
  • Eligibility: 
  • Class 6th to 10th students who are within the age group of 10 to 15 years can benefit under INSPIRE Awards.  
How to reset password and login id?

If students forget their password and login id then they can reset by using following steps:

  • To reset password

Students need to click on the reset password option that is given under the sign in box. To reset the password, they need to enter their email id with the help of which a recovery email will be generated by the system that includes the link. Using that link, students can reset the password.  The students have to enter the new password and confirm it. After submitting the new password, the password will change and reset.

  • To reset login id

If students forget their login id then there is an option of resetting the login id. When students click on reset login id, a reset form will be opened and students are required to fill all the necessary details asked in the form. Students must enter their registered mobile number so that they can set up a new email id. As soon as the mobile number will be verified, the process of generating a new email id will be started.
