In the early 1920s, in a rural setting at Chidambaram, Rajah Sir S. R. M. Annamalai Chettiar founded Sri Minakshi College, Sri Minakshi Tamil College and Sri Minakshi Sanskrit College to serve the downtrodden and to promote Tamil Literature. Rajah Sir S. R. M. Annamalai Chettiar negotiated with the local government in 1928 to hand over the aforementioned institution to set up a university. Annamalai University, NAAC’s ‘A’ Grade accredited in 2014, is one of the largest public residential universities in India with 10 faculties and 49 research departments. The University, spread over 950 acres of land, performs yeoman service in bringing education to the doorsteps of individuals who are otherwise far from accessing higher education centres.
The Annamalai University also provides more than 500 courses through distance education. The Directorate of Distance Education of Annamalai University offers education to those people who are unable to attend the campus but who desire to study.

The fees for BBA course is INR 4250 for the first year. Students who are willing to seek admission to the university should have to register themselves on the official website by submission of application form along with the required fee and necessary documents. Candidates please follow the following guidelines;

- Then fill the correct details of Phone number and email id.
- After that candidates will receive used ID and Password.
- By using this ID and password, fill the application form carefully and upload all required documents, passport size photo and signature.
- Submit the application form along with the required fees through debit card/credit card/netbanking.
The courses offered i.e. B.Sc, M.Sc, BA, MA, B.F.Sc, M.F.Sc, B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Ed, M.Ed, MBBS, BDS, M.Phil and Ph.D. Admission to medical and dentistry courses will be based on NEET-PG examination.
