The Indira Gandhi national open university started its regional centre in the state of Karnal in the year 1991. It has jurisdiction power in the state of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir, and Haryana. The jurisdiction of this regional centre was changed several times. Although the current duration of the regional centre of Karnal covers the whole of Haryana it doesn\u2019t cover the area of Gurgaon, Faridabad, Mewat, Palwal, Ambala along with Panchkula.
