IGNOU is a public open learning university, located at Maidan Garhi in New Delhi, India, and it was established in 1985. The name IGNOU was given on behalf of our former prime minister Indira Gandhi. The university was established only when the parliament of India passed Indira Gandhi National Open University Act, 1985 (IGNOU Act 1985). IGNOU is run by the Government of India.<gwmw style=\"display:none;\"><gwmw style=\"display:none;\">Dipanshu Sharma was the one who brought the idea of open university, through a seminar organised by the Ministry of Education and Social on the topic &#8216;Open University&#8217;. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the UGC, and the Indian National Commission for the Cooperation with UNESCO also participated in the seminar. On the basis of this seminar\u00a0 an open university was established in India on Trial basis. An eight-member working group was appointed by the government of India in the open university in 1974, the Vice-Chancellor of the Jawaharlal Nehru University G. Parthasarathi was the leading role . The only recommendation by the working group was, the university must have an administration all over the country so when the open university develops to the fullest, any students, even students from remote areas can access their degree. In 1989, the first meeting was held and more than 1000 students graduated. Based on 2011 statistics, IGNOU has served over 3 million students in India and more than 40 abroad countries. IGNOU has 21 schools, 67 regional centres, 2667 study centres, and 29 overseas centres in 15 countries.\u00a0<gwmw style=\"display:none;\"><\/gwmw><\/gwmw><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>School of gender and development studies (SOGDS) offers three design and development courses namely PG Certificate in Gender, Agriculture and Sustainable Development, Certificate in Gender and Science, and Certificate in Gender in Law. School of gender and development studies (SOGDS) July admission 2024 is open till<strong> August 2024. <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The institution offers a variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Theatre Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Hotel Administration, and Bachelor of Social Work are among the undergraduate programmes. Three bachelor&#8217;s degrees are available: one in visual communication, one in tourism and hotel management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The postgraduate courses fall into the MSc, MA, M.Com, MCA, and MPhil categories. On the college website, there are application forms for the same.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IGNOU SCHOOL OF GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT STUDIES ADMISSION 2024-25<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The institution offers admission twice a year. The students have to apply online on the official website. They must be aware of the eligibility criteria beforehand so as to be clear about the procedures. The online page also provides contact information and an email address, which candidates may use to check their contact information and, if necessary, get one-on-one assistance with their questions. All relevant information is made available online on the official IGNOU websites that deal with specific purposes, such as the notice of application form commencement and deadline, admissions, available seat ratio, merit list, examinations, results, etc. The students can quickly access the webpage and check them as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND FEE STRUCTURE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the master&#8217;s degree courses, the students must have done graduation in any discipline. The fee is between Rs 10,000 to 15,000 for different courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For pg and advanced diploma courses, the students must have done bachelor&#8217;s degree in any discipline and the fee is Rs7,200.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The diploma course requires that the student must have done 10+2 or its equivalent and the fee is Rs3,600.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the certificate courses, the students must have done graduation and the fee is Rs 3,800.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To attain the doctoral degree course, the students should have completed a master&#8217;s degree and the fee is Rs 16,800.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IMPORTANT NOTIFICATIONS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The institution assists the students with an official website that is easily accessible to all.
